Brow Lift

The brow lift is a facial surgery that is designed to correct problems such as droopy eyebrows, sagging skin in the upper face, deep forehead wrinkles, and frown lines (the 11’s that form between your brows). Dr. Quereshy can perform a brow lift to help men and women restore a more youthful appearance and significantly improve various signs of aging. You may also choose to combine your brow lift with other cosmetic facial procedures, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

An endoscopic brow lift or forehead lift is a less invasive version of the traditional procedure that uses a few small incisions along the hairline to lift drooping eyebrows instead of an incision spanning from ear to ear along the entire length of the hairline.

When performing an endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Quereshy utilizes a tool called an endoscope that allows him to see underlying forehead tissues with a tiny camera and light through very small incisions.

Brow Lift and Forehead Lift Surgery

The day of surgery, be sure not to use makeup or wear metal, jewelry or contact lenses. Wash your hair and do not leave any hair products in it. Dress comfortably, and bring eyewear that will help you read paperwork before and protect your eyes from the sun after surgery.

After cleansing your face and preparing the incision area in your hairline, Dr. Quereshy will make an incision along the length of your hairline, lifting and tightening the tissues of your forehead and removing the excess.

The incision is typically closed with dissolvable or removable sutures, clips or surgical tape, although permanent sutures or screws are occasionally used to fix the tissues in their newly elevated position. A soft, absorbent dressing is also applied that can be removed along with your sutures at your first follow-up appointment within a week of surgery.

A forehead lift or brow lift can be performed under general or sedation anesthesia, and the entire procedure takes roughly 1-2 hours. A brow lift can also be combined with eyelid surgery for total upper face rejuvenation or included as part of the facelift procedure if you desire skin tightening on your entire face.

Brow Lift Surgery Preparation

Dr. Quereshy will have you start preparing for your surgery and provide you with aftercare instructions and necessary prescriptions well in advance so you are ready to go when the big day arrives. If you smoke or use other tobacco products, you will be required to quit using them at least six weeks before your brow lift procedure.

Two weeks before and after surgery, you will be directed to discontinue taking medications and supplements that can thin the blood, such as ibuprofen, aspirin and vitamin E. Be sure to avoid chemically treating your hair with dye, bleach, perms and relaxers a week before and four weeks after the procedure.

Abstain from alcohol for one week before your brow lift and do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before. Let Dr. Quereshy know if you notice any signs of infection or illness prior to your brow lift, as it is imperative you be in good health before undergoing surgery.

For the first two weeks of the recovery period, do not let anything touch or bump your wounds, avoid strenuous activity, keep your head elevated and avoid exposure to excessive heat. It is safe to begin wearing makeup again a week into your brow lift recovery, however you should keep it away from your incision for at least a month. You will also need to avoid exposing your incision to sunlight for several weeks after surgery to ensure proper healing and avoid darkening your scar.

Dr. Quereshy will meet with you periodically to monitor your healing and advise you when you may resume normal activity and strenuous exercise. Within a few months, you will begin to appreciate the final results of your brow lift in Medina, OH and the refreshed appearance of your upper face.
