A study published in Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery shared survey results from 98 brow lift patients.
Facial plastic surgeons perform thousands of brow lift surgeries
each year. But how do patients really feel about their results? According to a recent German survey, they’re fairly satisfied.
Sometimes called a forehead lift, a brow lift is performed to rejuvenate the upper third of the face by repositioning the scalp and remodeling the muscles that cause forehead wrinkles.
98 subjects in the survey, 96 percent of them women, were surveyed roughly three years after their procedure. Their average age was 60.
Brow Lift Surgery Results
About 63 percent of the patients said they would definitely or most likely have the procedure again, while 18 percent said they definitely or probably wouldn’t. The remaining 18 percent were on the fence, stating the might have an eyebrow lift again.
The results were comparable when subjects were asked if they’d recommend brow lift surgery to a friend. The majority said they would, however, 32 percent said they weren’t likely to do so, perhaps due to the recovery after brow lift surgery.
The patient responses indicate that many felt post-operative effects like numbness, discomfort, swelling and bruising during the first month after surgery. However, only 14 percent felt the same during month two.
