Why Are We So Excited to Bring Dermaplaning to the V-Spa!
Visage Surgical Institute’s aesthetician, Danielle, explains why we are excited to bring Dermaplaning to our V-Spa!
I have been receiving this treatment for over a year and could not be happier with the results! Not only does it leave my skin smooth and hair free, but my complexion is brighter as well!! Dermaplaning is an alternative to Microdermabrasion and designed primarily to remove vellus hair (more commonly known as Peach Fuzz) while manually exfoliating weeks of dead skin build up.
With Dermaplaning, We Can Create a “Flawless Canvas”
Dermaplaning allows for deeper product penetration and creates a “Flawless Canvas” for make-up application. It is often used to prep the skin before other procedures such as: Facials, Chemical Peels, Laser Treatments, and Injectables (including Botox®, Juvéderm®, etc.) This is why we’ve paired Dermaplaning with the SkinMedica® Vitalize Peel for our November special!
Don’t Believe the Myth: Your Hair Will Not Grow Back Thicker After Dermplaning
The most common misconception about dermaplaning… “Will my hair grow back thicker?” Although merely an old wives’ tale, many patients are often concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. This is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.
Dermaplaning Is One of the Oldest Tricks in the Books
Another fun fact: Dermaplaning has been around for years!! Marilyn Monroe and Cleopatra are among the many women who shaved their faces!! Although the technique has changed as well as the utensils used, the results are similar!!
Dermaplaning Is Safe for the Majority of Our V-Spa Patients
As an added bonus… There really aren’t many contraindications for dermaplaning. This treatment is safe for woman who are pregnant or post-pregnancy!!
